The AuditDashboard Secure File Sharing Add-in is an add-in for Microsoft Outlook (classic) that connects a Firm User's inbox directly to their AuditDashboard file library. It lets you send and receive files without ever leaving Outlook — no copy-pasting links, no manual sharing setup, no email attachment restrictions.

Send Files from AuditDashboard
Attach files directly from your AuditDashboard file library to a new or existing email. When composing a message, use the AuditDashboard ribbon button to browse your files and folders, select what you need, and insert a formatted block of download links — no manual copying or link-sharing required.
The formatted block now reflects your portal's branding, including your firm name and any additional portal configurations.
Convert Attachments to Secure Links
Add attachments to your email and press "Convert Attachments" to quickly and easily generate secure download links that are automatically inserted into your email, instead of sending files.
Share Files Securely
When you send files, the Secure File Sharing Add-in automatically handles sharing permissions based on your default access setting:
- Anyone with this link can download — generates a secure download link anyone can use without logging in.
- Anyone with this link & contact info can download — generates a secure download link anyone can use without logging in but will need to require name and email address
- Only registered users can access — links route recipients to your AuditDashboard portal, where users sign in to access files.
Receive Files (Upload Requests)
Insert a secure upload link into any email so the recipient can send files directly to your designated AuditDashboard folder - no email attachments needed. The link is tied to your default upload folder, which you can configure in Settings, or you can Receive to a specific folder of your choice by selecting 'Receive to Folder'.
Settings
Access the Settings panel from the AuditDashboard ribbon to:
- Set your default upload folder (where received files are sent)
- Choose your default access type (how people can access files)
Manage Notifications
Control which cabinets notify you on file activity — directly from Outlook.
From the Settings panel
When signed in, the Settings panel includes a Manage your notifications for this cabinet section under Receiving Files. Use the on/off toggles to enable or disable notifications for File Downloads and File Uploads per cabinet. Changes save instantly — no Save button needed.
From the File Selector
Cabinets with active notifications display a bell icon next to their name in the file selector list. Right-click any cabinet to open a context menu with checkable Notify me on upload and Notify me on download options. Changes are queued and applied when you click Select; click Cancel to discard.
Tip: Right-click a cabinet in the file selector to manage its notifications without opening Settings.
Sign In / Log Out
Your session is remembered between Outlook restarts. To log in, click the AuditDashboard icon in the ribbon and press Log In, or open Settings and enter your credentials there. Click here for instructions on how to get started.
Troubleshooting
The add-in doesn't appear in my ribbon.
Outlook may have disabled it. Go to File → Options → Add-ins, set the dropdown to "COM Add-ins," and click Go. Check that AuditDashboard File Share Add-in is listed and enabled.
I'm signed in but folders aren't loading.
Ensure your AuditDashboard portal has Secure File Sharing feature enabled and that you have an appropriate role (My Files, File Manager, or File Admin). If you do and folders are still not visible, check your internet connection and try closing and reopening the Settings panel.
If the issue persists, sign out and back in.
