This article applies to: Firm Managers and Administrators
AuditDashboard has two types of roles and permissions:
- Domain (System) Roles and Permissions: these set the permissions for the user at a global level
- Engagement Roles and Permissions: these set permissions on a per-engagement basis. Click here to learn more about Engagement Permissions.
This article will focus on Domain (System) Roles and Permissions for Clients, which has two defined roles:
- General (default): these users can access AuditDashboard and respond to requests for engagements they're involved in.
- Staff Manager (not recommended) - can add, remove, activate, deactivate, and notify other client contacts at the client company. If a controller is given staff manager access, they can add colleagues to AuditDashboard, send them registration notifications, assign roles, and activate or deactivate their account.
To set a client's permissions, navigate to Users in the main menu. Use the search bar or select the client company name to find the user, and click their name to bring up the Details pane on the right:
Clicking the Advanced Permissions button allows you to set Client Roles for each company the client is associated with.
IMPORTANT: Although a client can add or remove their staff from AuditDashboard, they cannot add or remove them from the engagement. For security purposes, this is always the responsibility of the Firm Client Manager.
