This article applies to: All Firm Users with Administrator or Manager roles
Engagements can be created or modified in bulk by uploading an Excel file from the All Engagements view. This mirrors the existing requests-import experience and is useful when setting up a wave of engagements (for example, a year-end audit cycle) or applying the same change across an existing batch.
1. Create Engagements by Uploading an Excel File
- Navigate to Engagement Administration
- Click the Upload icon in the top-right
- Select Create
- Download the AuditDashboard Engagement Template
- Enter your engagement details (see the columns below)
- Upload the Excel file
The system will read the file and create engagements. You'll be notified once it's complete and any rows that failed will be listed with the reason.
2. Modify Existing Engagements
To modify a set of existing engagements, start with the All Engagements report. Each row carries a unique engagement ID. Make the desired edits in Excel, then upload the file back to the same view.
- Navigate to Engagement Administration
- Click the Upload icon
- Select Modify
- Upload the Excel file
The following columns can be modified:
- Status
- Title
- Code
- Type
- Period
- Year
- Owner
- Fieldwork Start Date
- Fieldwork Due Date
New engagements can also be created at the same time by adding additional rows to the sheet.
3. Tips and Best Practices
- Always start by downloading the latest template.
- When modifying engagements, do not change the Engagement ID column. This is how the system locates the engagement to update.
- Owner values must be the email address of an existing Firm User.
- If a Client Company does not exist, the import will fail for that row. Create the Client Company first.
